Our history

On 1 September 1935 a bakery opened in the Meißner Weg. It has never moved since — and has always stayed in the family.

… Hier läuft die Ware nicht vom Band, hier schafft man noch mit Herz und Hand.

Six generations


  1. On 1 September, master confectioner Otto Pankratz and his wife Ella founded the bakery in the Meißner Weg.

  2. Else, daughter of Charlotte and Max, married the journeyman baker Heinz Tulke.

  3. Daughter Charlotte and son-in-law Max Nitsche took over the bakery.

  4. Heinz Tulke passed his master craftsman's examination.

  5. Heinz Tulke took over the bakery.

  6. The Tulkes' daughter Astrid married the journeyman baker Fritz Neumann.

  7. The Neumanns took over the bakery.

  8. Daughter Anna passed her master craftsman's examination.

  9. Our tradition continues — the next generation is Leo Giacomo Reidemeister.

  10. January: awarded the “Goldene Brezel” for craft production of baked goods and participation in quality inspections. August: the sixth generation grows — Levi Matteo is born.

  11. At the Berlin bakers' guild Stollen inspection our Marzipanstollen was named “Best Marzipanstollen 2013”.

  12. Following participation in numerous quality inspections we are again awarded the “Goldene Brezel” for craft production. Daughter Anna takes over the running of the Backstube.

  13. The sixth generation grows once more — Lukas Pepe is born.

  14. Our family bakery celebrates its 85th birthday.

  15. Another award at the quality inspection for our Pfannkuchen, Plunder pastries and Kranzkuchen.

  16. For the seventh time we have been awarded the “Goldene Brezel” for craft production of our baked goods.

  17. On 10 November 2023 our Buttermohnstollen was once again awarded gold at the guild's quality inspection.
